About SmartFood

SmartFood is a web application for nutrition information, recipes, dishes, and meal planning.

The public catalog includes Products (foods), Dishes (recipes), and Menus (groups of dishes). Anyone can browse it without an account.

Without an account you can open a shopping list from a dish or a menu, and place library dishes on days in the Menu Planner. Saving a planner or list, creating your own products, dishes, or menus, and PDF download need a confirmed account. The Menu Planner does not import a menu. For example, Buckwheat porridge uses buckwheat and is part of Home cooking basics menu.

The public catalog is available in English, Ukrainian, and Russian.

Nutrition information

SmartFood publishes nutrition figures for Products (foods), Dishes (recipes), and Menus (meal plans) in the public catalog.

Product figures are stored with each food. When a proven basis is available, Product pages label it explicitly as Per 100 g. Some products show stored figures without a Per 100 g or Per 100 ml label, because portion size alone is not treated as the nutrient denominator.

Dish figures are calculated from the listed ingredients and their quantities, using those stored Product values. Public Dish pages show stored totals for the entire dish. When a valid servings count is recorded, they also show derived per-serving values.

Public Menu pages show the current total of the dishes included in the menu, for the entire menu — not per person, per day, or per serving.

These figures are for general informational use. They are not a laboratory analysis of a specific purchased item, and they are not individualized medical or dietary advice. Actual nutrition can vary with ingredients, brands, preparation methods, and quantities.
